Gol Gol Track – yes it is only minutes from Mildura

The new Circuit for the 2010 UIM Unlimited Displacement World Championships offers a wide scope of viewing for spectators and a fast and wide track for the competitors.  Well groomed lawns surround the entire circuit and offer many perfect viewing points, so there is something here for everyone.  The circuit itself will consist of straights over 700m long with three buoy turns.   A circuit chosen for the wide corners, perfect straights, and a great viewing for all the spectators.  The Pit area is in the middle of the spectator area and offers you, the spectator, a perfect view of the teams preparing over the three days.  The Pit area will be opened to the Public after each day of racing, so you can meet the teams and get up close to the boats.

The family area offers a small playground on well manicured lawns (thanks to the Wentworth Shire for the magnificent upkeep).   The Gol Gol Primary School directly across the road will be offering Public Car parking.

Preparations are well under way for the most anticipated Powerboat Meeting to be held in this country.  Another successful week of static displays and meetings in Mildura is continuing to strengthen the World Championship event and the feedback is outstanding and very positive.  The Hungry Jacks World Championship Banner is continually being towed around with the Official Fastwater Start Boat and both Hungry Jacks and the Sandbar have enjoyed the display opportunities.  If you have not booked your accommodation yet, then don’t delay because Mildura that weekend will also be hosting the Annual Mildura Show.  The Mildura Show is one of the main events on their yearly calendar and expects over 50,000 people to walk through their gates over the 4 day event.  This is also a great opportunity to bring the family along for the weekend at Gol Gol and a great way to entertain the kids during the evening after you have enjoyed a huge day of powerboat racing.

Race teams are busy in preparation and a lot of anticipation is around to learn which boats will be added to the already impressive competitor list.  There is a lot of talk around the country and the teams are itching to get back out on the water, this time, all in Reinforced Safety Cockpits.

Get your tickets online at www.fastwater.com.au and also at www.thesandbar.com.au. Buy a three day pass and Friday is free.  Come and support the teams, enjoy the weekend, and let’s get down to some serious Unlimited Displacement World Championship Racing.
