The Count Down is on !!

The excitement is sure growing, the weeks are now counting down, the teams are planning their attack.  To be successful on the water, to be the World Champion, takes weeks if not months of preparations by teams, Officials and Promoters to bring the UIM Worlds to reality.  The year the Unlimited Displacement Class will be represented by the top teams from the 2012 Event including Troy Marland, current 2 x time World Champion, Dean Barry whom was close behind Troy in 2012, came 2nd in his first attempt at the worlds, and the team is putting everything they have got to give it their hardest to go one better.  Back for his third Worlds is South Australia’s Dean Borg in Proformance.  Dean Borg builds his own boats including Safety Cells and his father builds the engines, and after finishing 3rd on t he Podium in the previous world championships, Borgy is aiming for anything better.

The 6.0 Litre Class has risen to the cell challenge over the past number of years, and without a doubt, this is the toughest class in the sport at the moment.  2014 is the 2nd World Championship Event for the 6.0 Litre Class and after a two round event in 2012, this year it is down to one round one chance to get on the Podium.  This class brings side by side racing for laps, and dicing for a spot is talent that every 6.0 litre pilot must learn and conquer perfect placement for the next corner.

The World Class are once again supported by the SST120 Outboard class which currently race in a National Series in Australia, which has expanded to the SST120 Global Challenge for this years event.  Attracting countries of Malaysia, Sweden and Qatar, including the current World F1 Champion Alex Carella, the SST120 Class race in 15 Lap races and with this high flying outboard class the battle is on lap after lap.  First qualifying for the SST120 Class is on the Friday after the practice session, ready for their first race on the Saturday.  Supporting these classes this year is the G P Hydroplane Class featuring the current world champion Grant Harrison in GP1. 5.0/6.0 Litre Hydropane KT Class and also the upcoming pilots of the sport the J2 and J3 Junior Class of the Australian Power Boat Association.

On land there is amusements for the Children, catering facilites, and a Public Licensed Area, all you have to do is bring your family and your chair and  you are ready to enjoy the Worlds.

Admission Prices are : Adults $20 Sat/Sun (Friday is fee) You will receive 1 free child entry per day for each Adult Ticket purchased ONLINE.  This is special not available at the Gate.2 Day Adult Pass $35.00  Children U/16 $10.00  NO BYO ALCOHOL IS PERMITTED INTO THE EVENT.
